In Peak Everything, Richard Heinberg compares climate change and peak oil. They will both lead to chaos because climate change is going to start causing more natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. Peak oil will lead to not having machines, cars, and gas stations out of service because the price will be too high.
Pollution causing climate change is important in Heinberg’s view according to, “Climate change has to do with carbon emissions and their effects- including the impacts human societies from rising sea levels, widespread and prolonged droughts, habitat loss, extreme weather events, and so on.(141)
For example, there has never been a tornado in Boston. The reason for this was because it got too hot. It surprised everyone and caused serious chaos. In my current essay, The Rivalry Future, I argue that in the future there will be less pollution, less war, and it’s all because of the extinction of oil. Life will be much better if us humans work as team and make a change. Heinburg’s ideas here are related to my discussion because we have the same point of view. Climate change is caused because of all the fossil fuels being burnt, so without these fossil fuels, none of this would have been happening.
